People can interpret art in different ways which explains why people like different things. There are numerous types of media that assemble the art community throughout the world which ultimately depicts each artist’s unique style. The arts allow society to express every person’s own ideals and perceptions about the culture around them. The arts come in their various forms like the performing arts, visual arts, culinary arts and media arts.
While looking at major pieces of artwork from famous artists, my mind fills with wonder because of the exquisite detail and hard work that goes into the pieces. As I saw Van Gogh’s portrait, I was in awe due to the old and authentic design aesthetic of Van Gogh. The technique as well as the unique style made me speechless. To be able to compare Van Gogh’s artwork to modern day pieces or even my own allows the art community to flourish. Everyone can benefit from seeing art in any type of media by discovering how artists are able to depict their own message and ideals.
From centuries old art to modern art, the expressions and types of art have changed along with how people look at art. Now, we have photography to graphic design and some people even try to go back to the old ways by copying the styles of past artists. The arts have grown throughout the years as people’s opinions and cultures have changed. It is amazing to see the effects that art has made on the world.
At Aquinas we have an excellent art department as our students are given the opportunity to excel in numerous visual arts classes. It is way for students to express their own aesthetic and originality. I believe that my love for art has been able to flourish while I have been at Aquinas, I have been able to use my Aquinas work for a portfolio. I have also learned new techniques and how to be the best artist that I can be. Art is a fascinating way for both audiences and artists to look upon how different mediums can show individuality. It allows people to prosper while depicting a meaningful message that can be interpreted in any way.
