The
Spring Festival is coming! It is the most important traditional festival in
China; many people put a great deal of attention on this festival. So the sagacious, industrious
and clever Chinese ancestors created many rich and colorful Chinese foods. The most traditional dish is called Jiaozi (dumpling). It is a wonderful
food and was made the staple food and dished be served. The stuffing of the dumpling can be
ever-changing but dumpling wrapper always had to be milk white. For me, I have eaten and will eat those dumpling wrappers for a long time, and I wanted there to be a change. Today I share
a way have great originality when making Jiaozi (dumplings). I call this "Rainbow
Dumplings."
First
prepare the raw materials.
Clean
all the vegetables.
Cut
purple cabbage into strips.
Then, either use a juicer or add water and poach to give it the right consistency.
Do the same thing, but this time with spinach, pumpkin, and carrot. The purees should look something like this.
Mix flour into the vegetable juice to create a paste. Put a damp cloth about the pastes so that they "wake up" fast. Once that has finished, it is time to make your dumplings!
You can make them with single colors like these ones:
Or, you can make them a mix of colors like these by combining two or more colors of paste together when you make your dumpling wrapper.
If you don't like those dumplings, you can always try one color and then the usual white color.
There are many ways to create dumpling wrappers. Use your imagination and creative ability to make more! Expect to love your share of dumplings!
