Every high school athlete wishes for the
opportunity to continue playing their favorite sport through college, but only
a few are fortunate enough to do so. Instead of just one or two athletes signing, Aquinas had nine athletes who signed their
letters of intent to continue playing in college. These nine athletes were,
Conrad Brake (Football at University of Pittsburgh), Kelsey Brinkel (Soccer at
Roberts Wesleyan), Emily Doell (Golf at Seton Hill), Earnest Edwards (Football
at University of Maine), Jamir Jones (Football at Notre Dame), Bri Niedermeier
(Soccer at Cleveland State), Taylor Riggins (Football at University of
Massachusetts), Caroline Ross (Hockey at Boston College), and Nick Tschetter
(Lacrosse at Lake Erie College). All
nine student athletes wrote and gave a speech stating how thankful they
are for the support they have gotten from everyone and how excited they are to
continue on with their athletic careers. The signing athletes shared this experience
with their peers, classmates, and family member in the auditorium at Aquinas.
The presence of such a sizable support network truly shows how much each
student is loved both in the classroom and on the field.
